When the pool pump makes a lot of noise, it's kind of annoying. That's good to know that it's a sign that someone should look it over. I'm new to having a pool, so I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't think the pump makes a normal amount of noise. It would be nice to have a professional look at it.
