The EU MEPS energy-efficiency regulations for electric motors have
now been in force for two months, so if you aren’t currently complying then you
should take urgent action.
The new legislation, introduced on 1 January 2015, states
that all new 7.5 – 375kW electric motors placed on the European market must be
rated at IE3 efficiency, or IE2 if connected to a variable-speed drive.
