- Improved performance in open and closed loop and a higher switching frequency
- Enhanced speed and torque control accuracy for both dynamic and static values
- High-speed motors up to 500 Hz supported
- Increased choice of identification set-up runs
- Refined motor shaft response, now within 2 ms (milliseconds) of a reference change, down from 10 ms
- Allows control of any motor type via an ACS880 drive without a change to the firmware.

» How to achieve greater accurate speed and torque control from your drive
Tuesday, 12 August 2014
Direct torque control (DTC) is a cutting-edge motor control
platform for variable-speed
drives which was developed in the 1980s to enable higher accuracy in
electric motor speed and torque control.
Variable-speed drive manufacturer ABB has used DTC since
1996 and continues to support the platform in its products to this day. DTC
provides torque response that’s typically 10 times faster than any AC or DC
drive, with the outstanding process control enabling consistent product quality
and energy efficiency.
This leading technology has now been upgraded, with the
fourth generation DTC bringing users even greater control speed and torque
control. Here are some of the benefits added to this already invaluable
platform:
Gibbons is delighted to supply ABB drives
direct from stock and one of our expert engineers would be happy to answer any
questions you may have. So give us a call on 01621 868138 or email info@gibbonsgroup.co.uk and discover
how the latest drives technology could boost the efficiency and profitability
of your process.
