Basic purpose of position and primary objectives
- To work with other members of the workshop repair team to provide a fast, efficient and high-quality repair service to our customers.
- Provide excellent customer service, face to face and over the telephone.
- Maintain accurate and neat paperwork, both written and computerised.
- To maintain an organised and safe workshop environment.
- All work activities to be carried out according to company policies and procedures as well as legislative rules and regulations.
- All duties to be carried out with a positive and conscientious work ethic.
Main duties
- Assess items entering the workshop for repair i.e. dismantle, repair, reassemble and test. Some on-site repair/maintenance work (company transport provided).
- Liaise with other staff members to offer the best solution/service to the customer.
- Prepare quotations/reports based on assessment of electrical equipment.
- Document receipt of customer’s goods, including contact details.
- Provide a high level of service by collecting information/feedback from the customer and informing the company. Assist in resolving any customer complaints as per company policy and communicate back.
- Liaise with suppliers/order spare parts.
- Stock control and management of spare parts and products.
- Other ad hoc duties as required and directed by the company.
Knowledge and skills required
- Electrical/mechanical repair/service background. Electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, rotating equipment (training given for areas not experienced in).
- Good organisation and focus on service delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multitask.
- Computer literate for stock control and despatch.
- Manual handling and lifting (training provided).
- Operation of warehouse equipment (training provided).
- Current full, clean UK driving licence.
Annual salary
£18,000 - £22,000.
