Basic purpose of position and primary objectives


  • To work with other members of the workshop repair team to provide a fast, efficient and high-quality repair service to our customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, face to face and over the telephone.
  • Maintain accurate and neat paperwork, both written and computerised.
  • To maintain an organised and safe workshop environment.
  • All work activities to be carried out according to company policies and procedures as well as legislative rules and regulations.
  • All duties to be carried out with a positive and conscientious work ethic.


Main duties


  • Assess items entering the workshop for repair i.e. dismantle, repair, reassemble and test. Some on-site repair/maintenance work (company transport provided).
  • Liaise with other staff members to offer the best solution/service to the customer.
  • Prepare quotations/reports based on assessment of electrical equipment.
  • Document receipt of customer’s goods, including contact details.
  • Provide a high level of service by collecting information/feedback from the customer and informing the company. Assist in resolving any customer complaints as per company policy and communicate back.
  • Liaise with suppliers/order spare parts.
  • Stock control and management of spare parts and products.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required and directed by the company.


Knowledge and skills required


  • Electrical/mechanical repair/service background. Electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, rotating equipment (training given for areas not experienced in).
  • Good organisation and focus on service delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multitask.
  • Computer literate for stock control and despatch.
  • Manual handling and lifting (training provided).
  • Operation of warehouse equipment (training provided).
  • Current full, clean UK driving licence.


Annual salary

£18,000 - £22,000.
