A leading energy-efficiency expert has claimed that some UK
businesses are yet to implement changes that could yield millions of pounds’
worth of energy savings.
Ameresco UK has delivered ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity
Scheme) audits for British businesses since the government-led scheme was
launched in 2014, and says that in doing so it has identified enormous
potential for the implementation of energy-efficiency measures.
ESOS makes it compulsory for UK companies employing 250 or
more staff and/or with an annual turnover above £39 million or a balance sheet
in excess of £34 million to be audited for energy efficiency.
Britta MacIntosh, Vice President for Ameresco UK Operations,
said that: “Many of the recommendations provide great opportunities for
businesses to save both energy and money, often without a substantial time or
cost commitment.”
Ameresco identified the implementation of heating,
ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) improvements as
one of its recommended solutions for improving energy efficiency.
As a long-time supplier, installer and service provider for
energy-efficient HVAC equipment, Gibbons Engineering Group is well equipped to
help ESOS-eligible companies capitalise on their audit findings.
By combining state-of-the-art HVAC equipment with
energy-saving ABB
variable-speed drives, Gibbons not only improve the efficiency of
air-handling systems, we can also extend operational life while reducing
maintenance costs.
