This week marks National Apprenticeship Week, an event
launched in 2008 to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have
on people, business and the UK economy.
The annual celebration aims to demonstrate that the sky’s
the limit for British apprentices - that by gaining the right skills and
working hard, young people can rise to the top and enjoy a successful,
rewarding career in their chosen field.
Gibbons has welcomed apprentices to learn their trade with
us for decades and we’re always delighted to help young people launch their
career in engineering. The friendly and professional environment here means we
retain many apprentices long after they’ve served their time.
Harry Hughes, 18, joined our motor rewinds workshop
in June 2015 having gained his qualifications from Colchester Institute. In
October Harry made the local press when he successfully completed his first
full electric motor
rewind following extensive training from the experienced Gibbons team. To
mark National Apprenticeship Week we grabbed a moment with Harry to ask him
about his fledgling engineering career:
If you’re based in Essex and are interested in undertaking
an engineering apprenticeship, call Matthew Gibbons on 07970 676272 or email matthew@gibbonsgroup.co.uk to find
out what we can offer.
