On Tuesday 31 March, three members of the Gibbons team
attended a special ABB drives event
at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Ansty Park, Coventry.
The conference marked the launch of the new general purpose
ACS580 variable-speed
drive, with Drives Manager Alan Roberts, Sales Manager Paul Scott and HVAC
Services Manager Andrew Knight making the journey north to represent Gibbons.
Attendees enjoyed a hands-on demo of the ACS580 and spent
time exploring its many features. The Gibbons team were delighted to see that the
device retains ABB’s customary user-friendly controls and menus that make
set-up so straightforward.
In addition, the other benefits reported include:
- Built-in essential features
- Simple commissioning , configuration and monitoring interface
- Integrated energy-efficiency calculators
- Motor can be heated by DC current when inactive to prevent condensation
- Customisation features for machine builders
