Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics
(ONS) show that the UK economy grew at a rate of 3.2% in the second quarter of
2014. This is the best performance since 2007, before the financial crisis hit.
Britain’s economy is now 0.2% larger than in the first quarter of 2008, which
was its previous highest prior to the credit crunch. There have been the usual
positive signs of improvement in recent months, such as booming construction
work and falling fuel prices, but these figures confirm that we’re heading in
the right direction.
However, in order to further stabilise the economy it’s
important that businesses do not become complacent. Since the financial crisis
began, all industrial sectors have been forced to make their processes more
energy-efficient and to reduce running costs. Now that things are on the up,
it’s just as important to maintain good practices if we’re to avoid a repeat of
those difficult years.
Here at Gibbons we’re committed to helping our customers
achieve and maintain their energy consumption targets. As well as offering a
range of energy-efficient products for ABB drives, HVAC, humidification systems
and electric motors, we provide comprehensive energy appraisals to ensure
you’re always getting the most out of your equipment.
