Here at Gibbons we provide a comprehensive range of services
for industrial and commercial applications, including predictive and
preventative maintenance. But what exactly is the difference between the two?
Preventative
maintenance
Also known as planned maintenance, this is carried out on a
regular basis, with the intention being to reduce the likelihood of failure.
The age of equipment and manufacturer’s recommendations are used to make
assumptions on expected lifecycle and parts are replaced accordingly.
Predictive maintenance
With this form of maintenance, the condition of operative
equipment is analysed in order to predict when repairs or upgrades should be
carried out. In some cases this may be a more cost-effective method of
maintenance as it’s only performed when required rather than at routine
intervals.
For many years we’ve provided maintenance packages for
clients with varying needs and are always on hand to offer advice on the best
course of action. Our experienced engineers visit site and assess equipment
before making an informed decision on the most appropriate method of
maintenance.
If you’d like to discuss maintenance for your process, whether
it’s an HVAC system, humidification equipment
or electric motor-driven
pump, fan or conveyor application, give Gibbons a call on 01621 868138 or email
info@gibbonsgroup.co.uk.
