Gibbons nominated for customer satisfaction award

Gibbons Engineering Group is delighted to announce that we’ve been selected as a finalist at Anglian Water’s We Love What You Do supplier awards. We’ve been nominated in the Excellence in Customer Satisfaction category, which recognises companies that meet and exceed their clients’ expectations.

Our nomination came about after we attended an urgent breakdown at a local pumping station where a problem with the variable-speed drive had left the facility running low on water. The issue occurred on a Sunday afternoon and Drives Manager Alan Roberts was contacted to see if we could assist. After discussing the drive fault with Anglian Water staff, Mr Roberts contacted our engineer Harry Ure who promptly attended site, taking with him an ABB variable-speed drive from our stock.

Harry and the Anglian Water engineers present on site worked into the evening to remove the drive from the pump control panel and install and commission the replacement drive. This swift action meant Anglian Water customers did not lose their water supply.

Anglian Water’s Adrian Hinchliffe was so pleased with the speed of our response out of normal working hours that he decided to put our name forward for the forthcoming awards. The ceremony takes place in Leicestershire on Thursday 2 July, where Mr Roberts will be in attendance.

Mr Roberts said: “We’re very proud to be nominated for this award as customer satisfaction is such a fundamental part of our business. We always go the extra mile to ensure the job gets done and in this case I must thank Harry Ure for attending site at short notice and getting the pumping station running.”
